Research Interests

  • Computational Electromagnetics, Electromagnetic Wave Propagation in Periodic Structures;
  • Method of Moments (MOM), Boundary Integral Method (BIE), Finite Difference Method (FD);
  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Applications: Survey and Interpretation.

Projects

  • Pavement Evaluation Using Ground Penetrating Radar  report(4.6MB)
  • sponsored by Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)

    Performed full waveform analysis to the GPR measurements. Layer thickness was interpreted as well as layer dielectric constant. Other layer properties such as moisture content was correlated with dielectric constant.

  • Ground Penetrating Radar Implementation  report(2.0MB)
  • sponsored by Minnesota Local Road Research Board (LRRB)

    Performed the GPR survey and evaluated the pavement condition throughout the state of Minnesota. 22 projects have been successfully reported including layer thickness determination, stripping detection, obstacles and utilites localization.

Teaching Experiences

  • CE4301 Soil Mechanics II; CE3301 Soil Mechanics; CE3402 Constructional Material
